Quarter turn valve automated lock out device allows the valve to be manually and physically locked in either the open or closed position. This allows personnel to work on the system without jeopardizing their safety or the safety of other persons in the area. It prevents the valve from accidentally being operated by a computer or from a remote location, as examples. A flag on the locking pin allows quick visual determination of whether the valve is locked open or closed, from a distance.
